A drawing by Anna Rudolf is created from a line that apparently connects nothing. Before that line is drawn, nothing is yet on paper. There is a void in which a line appears under her hand. No line is ever the same, even if you trace over it again. In her case, every drawing therefore starts with a lifeline. It seems as if a hair has fallen on the paper and will not be removed. The drawing is the artist’s DNA.
